Healthilicious Skin...

Without the Spa...

( Be sure the first thing you consume when you wake is a glass of warm water with a slice of lemon. This detoxes your body, cleaning your liver and stomach ... which we all know is an absolutely fabulous way to start the day.)

1. (This facial is to be carried out once a week.) Steam your face. Fill a large bowl halfway with boiling water, put a towel over your head and over the bowl so you are preventing any steam from escaping. Make sure your hair has been tied back and out of the way allowing your face to reap full benefits of the steam. Do this for ten minutes, your face will be dripping with a mixture of perspiration and condensation but that is the aim as this opens your pores.

2. Exfoliate. Use the best exfoliator you have, try to invest in a microdermabrasion exfoliant as the grains are much more refined and your skins texture shows a considerable difference when using one. Dr Brandt has one ( Thanks Ms D) called Microdermabrasion Exfoliating Face Cream, which would be a good investment. Follow the instructions for the specific exfoliant purchased, but generally you will need to dampen your face slightly and work the product into your skin in gentle circular motions, with the pads of your fingers. You would concentrate on different sections of your face at a time, the exercise boosts blood circulation, removes dead skin cells and allows the new skin cells to surface. This alone results in more clarified, even-toned skin and when carried out 2-3 times a week, keeps skin continuously revived and renewed.

3. After washing away the exfoliant, use a mask catered for your skin type, whether it is Dry, Oily, Combination or Normal. For example I have dry skin and so use Clarins Hydrating mask (which you can sleep with all night long as it's all natural and it just restores the water and moisture levels in the skin). However say if I had oil skin I would probably use a Clay or Mud mask to refine my pores, tighten them and remove excess oil resulting in a much smoother complexion. Keep the mask on for as long as your specific product instructs you to. Use this time to lie with green tea tea bags over your eyes.

4. Slather a serum/moisturiser or both catered to your skin - I would reccommend Rosehip Oil.

Do this every week and allow your skin to shape up into tip top condition, summers around the corner Beauties - Make sure Healthilicious skin is too!
